Native American Center

Butte College Native American Center is dedicated to cultivating a supportive community for Native American students, faculty, and staff. We aim to honor and celebrate Indigenous cultures, histories, and traditions while promoting academic excellence, and personal growth. Our mission is to provide a space where Native voices are heard, knowledge is shared, and cultural heritage is preserved. Through educational programming, mentorship, and community engagement, we strive to empower Native American individuals and enrich the campus experience for all.

Orange Shirt Day: Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 at the Culture Community Center

We acknowledge that Butte College and its satellite campuses stands on lands that were originally occupied by the first people of this area, and we recognize and honor the Maidu, Wintun, Wailaki and Nomlaki Tribes. We thank them for their strength and resilience in protecting this land for centuries and aspire to uphold our responsibilities according to their example. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Native American sovereignty, history, and experiences.
